Compassionate telehealth psychiatry for people across Texas who are holding everything together on the outside while quietly struggling on the inside.
You do not have to keep carrying this alone. I help hardworking, high-functioning people who have been silently exhausted by anxiety, depression, or emotional overwhelm finally feel stable, clear, and like themselves again, through personalized psychiatric care that sees the whole person, not just the diagnosis.
I believe healing happens when you feel truly heard, safe enough to be honest, and supported by someone who is genuinely invested in your success.

Hi, I’m Dayo Kolawole, PMHNP-BC.
I'm a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who believes that behind every diagnosis is a real person carrying weight that deserves to be seen, understood, and treated with genuine care.
My path to psychiatry started with my very first nursing job in an acute behavioral health unit. I did not plan it that way, but that experience shaped everything. I learned early on that the people who thrived were not the ones who received the quickest prescription or the shortest appointment. They were the ones who felt safe, heard, and treated as a whole human being. I carried that lesson through years of work in inpatient psychiatry, psychiatric emergency services, detoxification and addiction treatment, and outpatient care, and it became the foundation of why I started Fitsam Psychiatry.
I grew up in Nigeria, moved to the United States, and rebuilt my career and my life from the ground up. That journey taught me resilience, the value of showing up fully even when things are hard, and a deep respect for what it takes to keep going when life feels overwhelming. Those experiences do not just live in my past. They live in the way I sit with my patients, the way I listen, and the way I refuse to reduce anyone to a checklist or a diagnosis.
Care that is rushed is not really care. I built this practice to offer something different.
Do you…?
Wake up already exhausted, even before the day has started?
Lie awake at night replaying conversations, worrying about things you cannot control, or wondering why you cannot just quiet your mind long enough to rest?
Feel like you are holding everything together for everyone around you, while quietly falling apart on the inside?
Smile and say "I'm fine" because it feels easier than explaining how you actually feel?
Struggle to focus, stay motivated, or feel emotionally present, even with the people who matter most to you?
Feel guilty for struggling, because from the outside your life looks like it should be enough?
Find yourself going through the motions at work, at home, or in your relationships, while secretly wondering when you stopped feeling like yourself?
If any of this sounds familiar, you are not broken. You are carrying more than anyone should carry alone, and you deserve support that actually meets you where you are.
At Fitsam Psychiatry, you do not have to have it all figured out before you reach out. You just have to be ready to take one step.
I provide compassionate, individualized care for:
Anxiety Disorders and Panic
Depression and Major Depressive Disorder
Mood Disorders and Mood Instability
ADHD
Substance Use Disorders
Burnout and Emotional Exhaustion
Sleep Disorders and Insomnia
Stress and Adjustment Disorders

How I Help You Heal
Every treatment plan at Fitsam Psychiatry is built around you as a person, not just your diagnosis. Here is how we work together:
Medication Management. Thoughtful, individualized prescribing that is never rushed. Medication, when appropriate, is one tool among many, chosen carefully based on your fully picture and your goals.
Supportive Therapy. A consistent, safe space to process what you are carrying. Sometimes the most healing thing is having someone truly listen without judgment.
Mindfulness and Sleep Hygiene. Practical, sustainable strategies to help your mind slow down, your body recover, and your sleep improve. Small habits, real results.
Psychoeducation. Understanding your own mind is powerful. I make sure you leave every appointment knowing more about your diagnosis, your treatment, and what progress can look like for you specifically.
Motivational Interviewing. For the moments when you know something needs to change but are not sure how to get there. We work together to build your confidence and clarify what you actually want for your life.
